Winners-Mar-2021Chrysalis has been spreading some Christmas cheer across the county by sending out more than 80 festive gift boxes to the people we support.
This was made possible by a generous donation from Mr Mike McCrickard.
Mr McCrickard presented to Claire Doherty on behalf of Chrysalis earlier this year in our Sensory Garden with a cheque for £500, where he was able to socially distantly meet a few of our members and some of The Meeting Place staff with Team Leader Vicky Hogg as well as the Trustees.
As we couldn’t host our regular Christmas meal and disco this year, we held an online virtual party instead on Tuesday 22nd December as part of our 12 days of Christmas events. We played games, had dances and even a little virtual singalong with thanks to Dave Camlin.
The festive gift boxes included Christmas hats, Christmas party toys and Christmas Cake (or alternatives) as well as a little gift of compulsory Christmas socks!
Chrysalis Chief Officer Claire Doherty said: “We wanted to do something to keep in touch with everyone and let people know we are thinking about them.
“Everybody that we support regularly, either by telephone, virtually, on-site and with our out-reach workers, has been sent a gift box and there are some items in there that they can use to celebrate Christmas or join in with our virtual Christmas party.”

It is unfortunate that this years Annual Car Treasure Hunt, that is normally held over the Easter weekend, has had to be cancelled.
We would like to thank the organisers for their yearly efforts and their continued support and for making this understandable and practical decision during a difficult time.
We look forward to the return of the Car Treasure Hunt with much enthusiasm and hope that you will be able to join us whenever that may be.
