Chrysalis Boccia “A Team” bring home the trophy!

Posted on: June 29th, 2017

Our “team A” have been playing in the first division of the local Boccia League at the Sands Centre, Carlisle; and after a fantastic season were announced as winners of their league. As you can imagine the whole team were over their moon, there were even tears of joy!

All of the team members received an individual medal to keep and have the honour of keeping the shield until the end of next season.

We are all very proud of their achievement. Well done guys!

For those of you who don’t know Boccia (pronounced bot-cha) is a sport that can be played individually or in teams of three. It is a precision sport using two coloured balls, red and blue. The aim of the game is to throw the coloured ball as close to the white jack as possible which is thrown first, or to knock the opponents coloured balls away from the jack. The winning team will receive a point for each ball closest to the white before the opponent’s closest ball.

Our members thoroughly enjoy their Boccia matches, not only for the skills they learn but also to catch up with their friends and meet new people.
